Traditional Patinated Polished Elm Wooden Rice Box

These traditional rice boxes made from elm were used as a functional measure, the wear and patina shows their age and the care with which they were used. As with this example they are reinforced with decorative iron strapping , all of our rice boxes have been specially selected and lightly polished to draw out the colour and patina of the wood. They have many uses from the simple decorative to practical uses as unique waste paper baskets.
