An old, circa mid 1800, solid and traditionally made long slatted seat carved ceremonial bench used in waiting or anterooms of important buildings or the hallway of a grand house
The construction is in elm and heavy, with a slightly curved base to the carved backrest and pinnacle
carved motifs to the top rail; below, there is a large frame section overshooting also framed slatted seat panels, a lower running footrest, in all spanning almost seven feet in length
With an aged deep finish and richly original patina throughout, this statement piece would look wonderful in a large vestibule/covered patio or garden room or hallway, as a kitchen/ breakfast room bench seat
